Join us in visiting Salem's historic Peabody Essex Museum on November 9! The Art History Club will be taking a trip to the museum in order to participate in artist Marie Watt's sewing circle, an event that aims to generate conversation by engaging the public in embroidery. No experience is necessary and all are encouraged to come together to share stories and enjoy some food.
Marie Watt (Seneca Nation) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work touches upon powerful subjects such as her native people's history, her own history, feminism, and native traditions. Watt is known for holding public events, such as this sewing circle, which are all held with the intention of bringing people together to encourage dialogue among them.
