Join us for a screening of excerpts from the documentary 9TO5: The Story of a Movement, which "captures the real-life fight that inspired a hit [movie with Jane Fonda and hit song by Dolly Parton] and changed the American workplace" (https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/documentaries/9to5-the-story-of-a-movement/). Following the screening of the documentary, Janet Selcer, who helped to organize the 9to5 in 1973, will discuss her work through the movement to win rights and respect for office workers in Boston and across the country.

About Janet Selcer
Janet is now retired and especially enjoys walking, hiking, playing cello, spending time with her grandchild, and volunteers with Movement Voter Project to raise funds for grassroots, community-based organizations to win elections and build a progressive movement for the long haul.

Cosponsored by the Sociology, History, Political Science & International Studies, Theater Arts Departments and the School of Business & Management along with the Black Student Union, the Sociology Club, Urban Food Project, Philosophy Club, Law and Legal Studies Club, the Center for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and Library Learning Commons.
