About this Event
The general election on November 5, 2024 will be significant and influential for many reasons. While many of us will be voting for President and some seats in Congress, voters in several states will also be deciding on how they will vote in the future.
In this event, Dr. Brendan Sullivan, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, will first use some examples to teach you about alternative methods of voting beyond the traditional “choose one” method. After that, we’ll discuss some upcoming ballot measures in Oregon, Nevada, Missouri, and other places that may enact or ban these alternative methods. Open discussion and questions will be welcome throughout!
