The Hooding Ceremony:
The Hooding Ceremony is a special event for the graduate students. At this event, the students in the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Education programs will be hooded by their program representative.
The ceremony is similar to graduation in that there is a processional and recessional, and faculty and graduates are dressed in academic regalia. The color of the hoods worn represent the College and the degree earned. The Hooding is a symbolic ceremony which signifies the passage of student to “master” and their success in completing the graduate program.
RN-BSN Pinning Ceremony:
The pinning ceremony is a symbolic welcoming of RN-BSN graduates into the nursing community and recognizes the hard work and dedication the graduates have put toward earning their BSN degree. The Pinning Ceremony is modeled from the ceremony in the 1860’s when Florence Nightingale was awarded the Red Cross of St. George in recognition for her service during the Crimean War.
