Coinciding with the official launch of Emmanuel College's Global Public Health program (now a major, formerly a minor), join us for an exciting discussion about global health and equity as Dr. Barthélemy discusses the path of his work.
The lecture in The Fenway Room from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Following the lecture, there will be a reception with light refreshments from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Dr. Barthélemy MD, MPH, MA, is a Global Health Activist, Chief of Neurosurgery and Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, Neurology and Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. He is co-founder of the Society of Hatian Neuroscientists and works to improve healthcare access in Haiti as he does in Brooklyn.
In addition to his two postgraduate fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco and a global surgery fellowship at the Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia, Dr. Barthélemy was a Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellow at Harvard University. As the president and co-founder of the Society of Haitian Neuroscientists, Dr. Barthélemy works to improve health care access in Haiti. (See further information about Dr. Ernest Barthélemy)
