Buried Child takes place in a farmhouse in Illinois, in the 1970’s. (TBD if this production will take place in the present day). The story follows an already broken family as the patriarch of the household, Dodge, is taken over by multiple conditions and illnesses. The family, represented through three generations shown onstage, is hiding a dark and terrible secret which manifests in anger, resentment, confusion, and denial in all of the characters. When Vince brings his girlfriend Shelley to the farmhouse to visit his family, all hell breaks loose. Secrets are revealed as Shelley pulls information from each family member, being the only seemingly “normal” person in the room at any point.
