Eric Petitti Exhibit
Sunday, March 30
Artist Eric Petitti constructs fact-based fiction rooted in traditional forms of depiction. His elaborately rendered drawings, paintings and sculpture pose as fictional artifacts from a future post-civilization. By installing these relics into museum-like presentations commemorating historic events he questions the authoritarian constructs of history. These installations include didactics and internet-based systems (such as QR codes). These invite the viewer to interact with and investigate the exhibit further.
Petitti received his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has shown with Johansson Projects in Oakland has an upcoming solo exhibition Duplex Gallery in Portland, Oregon. He lives and works in the Boston area.
